“Always the most revealing thing about the Church is her idea of God, just as her most significant message is what she says about Him or leaves unsaid, for her silence is often more eloquent than her speech.” – A.W. Tozer
“The beginning of knowledge is the fear of the LORD.” – Proverbs 1.7
some things are just forever and uniquely connected. the candle, the flame. a bride and her groom. the king and his reign.
and to jump in the same river as a.w. tozer, i would suggest, the most revealing thing about yeshua is what the church is saying or not saying and doing or not doing. they are uniquely and forever connected.
it’s like the cyclical process of rain and evaporation and cloud cover and water migration ad infinitum: the most revealing thing about the church is her idea of GOD: which forms the message to the masses: which is supposed to be the very thoughts and dreams of GOD to the masses.
we are the body of christ. selah.
every time i read those six words, my heart skips a few beats. the christ, which i believe to be found in yeshua, is the head. the imagery could not be any clearer, but is so often glossed over, so as to be obscured beyond recognition.
how is it that one person knows what another person is thinking? obviously, by how the eyes dance, what the mouth says, and the actions the body makes: moreover, it is how all these parts work together that will most powerfully display the thoughts and dreams of this one person!
and to top it all off; to add the whipped cream, if you will: when yeshua established the new covenant, he also conferred upon his disciples his very kingdom. that is to say, we carry with us, at all times, the kingdom of heaven and the dreams of GOD. what are kingdoms made of? people. bodies. and make no mistake, we, collectively, are the body of christ.
the kingdom coming comes through us and we are to be his will being done.
but of course. the most revealing thing will be our idea of GOD. ergo, the beginning of knowledge is the fear of the LORD.

despite my unbelief, i believe that who i am is a son of the only living god & king, YHWH [blessed be his name]. a son of the resurrection. a son of the wind which bends all things.
